A Great Sermon

faith and rebirth

I wanted to recommend a wonderful sermon to you all. It is on 2 Peter 1:1-4 and is titled “Faith in Your New Birth.” The message is about justification and regeneration, and although those are two heady theological terms, this sermon speaks right to the heart about the glorious things that Jesus has done to present us holy before Him, as well as what God has so lovingly done through His Holy Spirit to truly change us from the core of our being to direct our hearts toward His. I know that we all know these truths, but it is always so valuable to be reminded of significance of our own salvation. I hope you enjoy these words!

(And being that we no strangers to different cultures and modes of ministry, I wanted to mention briefly that some of you may find the style of presentation a bit different than what you are used to as it is very much geared towards Seattle culture, which I know can be a bit more abrasive than others. Regardless of whether it is your style or not, I hope you can enjoy the encouraging message from scripture. )

LOVED this sermon, too!!! So glad you’re sharing it here. I was so encouraged. I can’t remember if this was in the sermon but I just kept remembering the verse, “He who has done a good work in you will carry it onto completion”….so encouraging for those days when everything seems to go wrong….which is quite often πŸ™‚

Yes, Pastor Mark is quite passionate in this one! I wondered if he had one too many Red Bulls that morning πŸ˜‰

We’ve been listening to the “Trial” series overseas. I’ve really enjoyed them. Haven’t listened to this one yet, but look forward to it. It’s fun to hear references to Seattle too–it makes me feel a little closer to “home” πŸ™‚
