Today is International Women’s Day! I don’t know about where you live, but it is a huge holiday here in Russia. I was out and about this morning and saw tons of ladies with flowers and balloons in hand, and lots of men crowding by flower kiosks and inside of gift shops buying gifts for the women they love. I wanted to wish each of you a happy Women’s Day, whether or not you are celebrating where you are! Praise God for how you are fearfully and wonderfully made and for the great purposes that He has designed specifically for you to fulfill. You are a blessing to so many and of such great worth to your Heavenly Father. I hope you feel loved today, whether it is a holiday or just an ordinary day for you!
My day has been nice so far and included a latte from McDonald’s (and in case anyone wondered, yes, this is a special treat), some yummy pastries that my husband and kids bought at a bakery, and some time having tea with a teammate and our sweet neighbor “Babushka Anya.” Now that the kids are napping I am off to have a bit of peaceful time with the Lord and then a nap as well! It’s a good day so far. If you are in a place that celebrates Women’s Day, are you doing anything special today? Does your culture celebrate any other similar holiday?

Thanks for sharing!! Do you celebrate Mother’s Day too in Russia?
Thanks for the encouraging message in the first paragraph! I needed that this morning!
Hugs!
Women’s Day is big in my host country. Usually young women will go out together and go dancing, clubbing, etc. The older women will go to a cafe or restaurant (or dancing, clubbing, etc). I don’t usually go out because it’s so busy. Instead I’m home in a snow storm, fixing cabbage soup
Happy Women’s Day!
Thanks for posting! That was encouraging! I’m in Veracruz, Mexico and I dont think they celebrate Woman’s day here.
I didn’t expect any gifts, but last night my Love brought home genuine Oreos from the city. That’s a good man right there!
